  • Raised in the environment of his father’s tattoo studio, Matt Jordan’s artistic path was set from the start. Beginning his apprenticeship at 18, he quickly rose to prominence for his award-winning realistic tattooing, earning international recognition and opportunities to collaborate with leading artists around the world.

    In 2013, he opened Ship Shape Tattoo—now a renowned 10-artist studio and a central hub for realism in New Zealand. He later launched Studio Takitimu, an immersive, heritage-inspired tattoo experience reflecting his ancestral roots. Today, Matt balances his time between both studios while enjoying life with his family and pursuing passions such as cooking, fishing, and restoring classic cars.
